The Human Statues

spreading jubilation across the nation

Playground.is Awesome!

We’re really proud to have been a part of PGI #3, presented by Playground.is at the Vancouver Urban Winery on Sunday, Jan. 29th.

We had the chance to debut a new song, written for the event, called “It’s So Simple”. Our band, which is at times is a 2-man operation, was augmented by the voices and percussion of over 100 people. It sounded good, very good. It was a pleasure to have so many people breathe life into this new song.

We were also fortunate to be joined by Jeremy Holmes on bass, Sangito Bigelow on Marimba as well as Reid Hendry and Jon Holisko leading percussion.

You can watch the teaser video here, and stay posted for the full length video of the event which will be available in February. Thanks again to Adam and Kev and everyone else on the Playground.is team!

Saskatchewan Tour Begins

Biggar, Saskatchewan

Our tour of Saskatchewan commenced today at the Majestic Theatre in Biggar. We noticed a lot of wordplay today up and down main street, utilizing the city’s name. We support it.

Wrapping Up 4 Weeks in Northern BC

The Students of Port Clements Elementary (Haida Gawii)

After 26 shows in 3 weeks, we’re almost done our tour of Northern BC. We have a concert tonight in Kitimat at the Mount Elizabeth Theatre and will complete this leg of our ArtStarts tour on Tuesday in Hazelton, BC.

By the time we get back to Vancouver next week, we will have driven over 5,000 kilometres in varying forms of winter driving conditions. The travel and the lugging has been tough, but well worth it for all the people we’ve met and communities we’ve been welcomed into. Hopefully we’ve made some fans out of the 10,000 or so students we’ve played for!
